Kinja'd!!!

Is this picture worth trying to get a framed print (and what size)? I'm finding conflicting information on maximum print sizes based on picture resolution. The picture is 2048 X 1536, and 72 dpi both horizontal and vertical. The original picture is posted above, too. Any idea as to how big this will print.

Enlarged? Doubtful. It will just pixelate and look like crap.

You could certainly get it printed though. Try FedEx/Kinos and see how large it prints first.

Enlarged was the wrong word. I'm just trying to figure out how big this will print as is before taking it to a print shop.

2084 divided by 72 = width in inches. 1536 divided by 72 = height in inches.

Which comes out to about 28.9 inches wide and 21.3 inches high.

But at 72 dpi, it would look pretty pixelated; think iPhone screen before retina display.

If you print it at 250 dpi, you'll get a print sized at 8.3 wide by 6.1 inches high, but the print will look a lot more clear.

There must be a story?

That's good information.

I've been doing some more investigating , and have seen that while there is a huge difference between 50 PPI and 100 PPI for full sized prints, there isn't much of a difference between 100 PPI and 150 PPI, and even less of a difference between 150 PPI and 250 PPI for full scale prints. Does this comparison seem reasonable?

If that's the case, it looks like I would be able to get this image printed as an 8x10, and still be over 150 PPI by a fairly good margin.

The oil filter is pretty much wrapped in exhaust pipes.

And with big hands and the fact that cars came in hot, it was like reaching into a fire and grabbing a hot coal.
